Farm Chicks 2012

Friday my daughter and I drove to Spokane (3 hrs. away) for the farm chicks show.  We stopped by the fair and expo center and picked up our tickets that afternoon.  Then we went to our hotel with a water park and enjoyed the rest of the evening.  It was a warm sunny day.

Saturday morning we woke up to pouring rain.  I had to make a stop at Fred Meyer and buy an umbrella.  I spent over 2 hours standing in line in the rain while my daughter sat in the car.  I thought, "If my husband could see me and the hundreds of people in line in the rain he would think we were crazy."  I had the thought myself but it was worth it.

At 8:30 am the people with early tickets were allowed in.  These went on sale months ago for $25 and sold out in 24 hours.  I didn't even know about them until recently.  Our general admission tickets were $7 and we were allowed in at 10:00 am.  I will definatley try to get an early ticket next year.  We were at the beginning of the line and most things I liked had sold tags on them.  By the time the hundreds of people were inside it was hard to move.  I had to bypass some booths because I couldn't get in.  It was absolutely packed.  I've never seen anything like it.

The line went clear down this road and down the next block.

It was hard to get good pictures because it was so packed. I did manage to get a few. It was so inspiring!

I met Serena!!!!  She signed my Farm Chicks poster!!!

That's me all blurry on the right.

She even posed for a picture.  She was very gracious and sweet.

I only made two purchased at the show.  This large scale for a steal at $45.

And this large dough bowl "trencher" purchased by the seller in Austria.  I paid $75 for it.  This thing is huge at four feet long.

All in all it was a great time but I sure hope to get early tickets next year!!!!
