I picked up a hutch at a yardsale on Friday.
I couldn't get a picture before I started working on it. It was loaded into my minivan with the seats down. It barely fit. I wanted to get to work on it right away Friday morning. I was barely able to fit a screwdriver between the top of the van and the hutch and removed the doors. Those were already painted and fitted with chicken wire when I got help that afternoon moving it out of the van.
The finish was the same as this hutch below I finished earlier this year. You know that dark 70's look. Only this hutch had orange pop bottle glass doors. Ugggg.
I painted it a very light blue grey, lightly sanded the edges, and wiped it down with Ralph Lauren tobacco glaze. I love the hammered hinges and the chicken wire in the top doors. I added glass knobs and stenciled a laurel wreath and year on the bottom drawers. I think it all came together nicely.
